Included in this series is a wide range of work, from samples to technical felt. Many are in private collections and several reside in other series or have been exhibited in multiple venues. I have a habit of keeping offcuts of felt – natural fibres such as celluloid, Hessian sack Jute, and Ramie, as well as a wide variety of silks. These are distributed throughout my work as they provide a rich collection of textural highlights or are used in their entirety in one complete piece. Cuboid is one example made from offcuts from Obscure Barrier (exhibited in ‘Sense of Felt’ my solo in 2010 at Gallery St.Martin’s). Cuboid has been exhibited in The Carre Gallery, Sleaford, The National Centre for Craft & Design, and is currently touring with the International Felt Association.
